In recent years Bridport-based artist Kit Glaisyer has established himself as a leading contemporary landscape painter, and now a selection from fifteen years of his paintings has been brought together in his book ‘The Marshwood Vale & Beyond’, first published by Downes Street Editions in August 2022.

This series of Cinematic landscape paintings was largely made possible by the numerous patrons and private collectors who have allowed Kit to work, undistracted, for six to eight months on each individual painting.

Kit set out to discover hidden corners of the West Country which he explores throughout the seasons, sometimes waiting several weeks for an inspiring moment that will become the subject of a painting.
